About Me

Hi all, I’m Mark. I am one of the admins for WeatherTogether, mostly dealing with social media. I am a Tri-Cities native now working as a meteorologist in the renewable energy industry in Portland. Most of what you see on here will be Pacific Northwest focused, though if something else interests me you may see an article about it. You’ll also see some geology posts here.

This website started as an extension of my Facebook page, Tri-Cities Weather. I started Tri-Cities Weather in September of 2009, and it quickly became a trusted source for weather information in the Columbia Basin.

I am a frequent contributor to the Comedeorological Report, a syndicated Canadian radio show about weather hosted by Joey Only and featuring Canadian weather legend Frankie MacDonald. If you can’t catch it on radio or cable television in British Columbia or Manitoba it is live streamed on Joey’s YouTube channel.

Aside from weather, I enjoy wilderness adventures. I’ve climbed mountains (such as Mount Adams), and I’ve gone on backpacking trips that last several days. I am a general-class amateur radio operator. I also Geocache, and recently hit 2000 finds.

Thanks for stopping by.
